Community guidelines
Somebody posting here is about to walk out of the door and is not sure about what they are wearing. Answer them the way you would want to be answered.
Answering well
- Answer the question they asked. They asked whether an outfit works for an occasion — not what you think of them.
- Be specific. “The jacket is a bit formal for a pub” is worth ten “looks good”.
- Be quick. An honest “Not sure” in two minutes beats a considered answer tomorrow.
- “Not sure” is not an insult. It is the useful half of the app. Use it.
Not welcome
- Comments about somebody’s body. Their shape, weight, skin, face or attractiveness. Not as a compliment either. This is the line we enforce most strictly.
- Harassment. Following somebody around the app, piling on, or contacting them after they have blocked you.
- Hate. Anything targeting who somebody is — race, religion, disability, gender, sexuality.
- Sexual content, and any sexualised comment about another person.
- Photographs that are not yours, or that show someone who did not agree to be posted.
- Anyone under 16. In a photograph or holding an account.
- Spam — promotion, link-dropping, or posts that are not a genuine question.
- Judging clothing by one culture’s standards. A saree, a sherwani, an abaya, a hijab or a kimono can be entirely right for work, an interview or a wedding. If you are not sure of the conventions, say what you can judge and leave the rest.
If something is wrong
Every post and comment has a report option, two taps away. Reports are read by a person. You can also block anyone: they disappear from your view and you disappear from theirs, straight away, in both directions.
Reporting is not anonymous to us, but the person reported is never told who reported them.
What happens when a report is upheld
- Content that breaks these guidelines is removed.
- Repeatedly breaking them costs you your account.
- Anything that suggests somebody is in danger is treated as urgent.
If you are struggling
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. In Australia, Lifeline is 13 11 14. Reporting something here reaches us, but not straight away.
