WORNN

Privacy policy

Last updated: 25 August 2026

This policy explains what WORNN collects, why, and who else sees it. WORNN is operated by Made by Matter Pty Ltd (ACN 699 846 896) of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (“we”).

What we collect

WhatWhy
Your email address To create your account, sign you in, and reset your password.
Your date of birth To check you are 16 or over. We store the date, not your age.
Username, display name, profile photo So other people can see who is asking and answering.
Photographs you post They are the post. Location data is stripped from every photo on your phone, before it is uploaded.
Occasion, caption, item tags Context for the people answering, and the brands and links you choose to add.
Your answers, comments and taps on item links To show them on the post, and to understand which parts of the app are used.
Reports and blocks you make To keep the app usable. Reports are not anonymous to us, but the person reported is never told who reported them.
A notification token for your device Only if you allow notifications. Deleted when you sign out.
Crash and error diagnostics To find and fix faults. This includes your account identifier so we can tell whether a fault hit one person or everyone.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, your advertising identifier, or anything for advertising purposes. We do not sell anything to anyone.

Who else sees it

Anthropic — your photographs

To give you an instant first response, the photograph you post and the occasion you chose are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API. Anthropic processes them to produce the response and does not use them to train models. The response is shown only to you. If you would rather this did not happen, do not post — there is currently no way to opt out of it separately, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it.

Supabase — everything else

Our database, file storage and sign-in run on Supabase. Your account, posts, photographs and answers are stored there.

Google — notifications

Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging, and on iPhones onward through Apple. The notification says only that somebody has responded; it does not contain your photograph.

Sentry — diagnostics

Crash and error reports go to Sentry, hosted in the European Union.

Apple and Google — sign-in

If you sign in with Apple or Google, they tell us an identifier and, unless you hide it, your email address. We do not receive your password.

Who can see your posts

Getting a copy of your data

Settings → Download my data produces a file with your profile, your posts and the photographs in them, your comments, the answers you gave, the items you tagged, who you blocked and what you reported.

It deliberately does not include other people’s answers or comments on your posts, or reports made about you. Those belong to the people who wrote them, and a request for your own data is not a way to find out who answered you or who reported you.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app, under Settings → Delete account. It is immediate and permanent. Your posts, photographs, comments, answers and profile are removed, along with replies other people made to your posts. Your username becomes available to someone else.

Deleting removes your content from our systems. Copies may persist briefly in encrypted backups before those expire, and crash diagnostics already sent to Sentry are removed on their own retention schedule.

How long we keep things

Your account and its content are kept until you delete them. Reports and moderation records are kept while they are needed to keep people safe.

Your rights

You have the right to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, and to have it deleted. Both are in the app and neither needs you to ask: Settings → Download my data gives you a file containing everything we hold that you created or that describes you, and Settings → Delete account removes it. For anything else, write to us and we will respond within 30 days, as the Australian Privacy Principles require.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to us first, and then to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

This policy is governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.

Children

WORNN is not for people under 16. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect.
